In 1958, after graduating high school, Shiro Kasama moved to Tokyo and debuted as an illustrator in Saturday Manga magazine.
In the early 1970s, inspired by his collaboration with BDSM novelist Dan Oniroku, Kasama shifted his focus to bondage manga. His distinctive style, quickly made him a standout in the genre.
Today, Kasama is celebrated as one of the most influential SM mangaka, offering a bold artistic lens into Japan’s underground culture during the Showa era.

His works remain highly sought after, with kinbaku manga covers being exceptionally rare and considered the most valuable artwork.
